Bakcell Ltd., the first mobile operator in Azerbaijan, presented a ‘Big check’ in the amount of AZN 55,000 to the “Save the Children”. This amount was donated by Bakcell subscribers in the framework of CSR program Bakcell Stars. The check was presented to Mr. Geof Giacomini, Country Director of the ‘Save the Children by Ms. Ineke Botter, CEO of Bakcell. In the official presentation ceremony Ms. Ineke Botter said: “Bakcell Stars is very pleased to announce that AZN 55,000 was donated by Bakcell’s subscribers to the Save the Children projects. This contribution will have a direct impact on the lives of children in Azerbaijan. We will continue our efforts to help the children in the Azerbaijani society. Every manat donated Bakcell Stars will go towards projects helping Children in Need in Azerbaijan”. The collected amount will be spent for funding of the educational programs aiming at the promotion of ideas of tolerance, good behavior and making healthy choices among the Azerbaijani schoolchildren. With the donations of Bakcell subscribers, the education program of “Save the Children” will be expanded to a larger geographical area and work with a more diverse age group. Bakcell Stars and Save the Children are thankful to the Bakcell subscribers who support children’s programs in Azerbaijan! The donation was collected via a SMS-campaign where Bakcell subscribers could contribute 1 AZN or 450 contours to the Save the Children education project by replying to the 1155 sms short code.
