Bakcell - the First Mobile Operator and the Leading Mobile Internet Provider of Azerbaijan, has celebrated the 1st of June – the International Children's Day within the frames of its «Bakcell Stars» Corporate Social Responsibility program.
On June 1st, together with "Megafun" entertainment center a festive event was organized with participation of more than 150 children. Children represented by such organizations as the "SOS Children's Villages” and UAFA have celebrated the holiday by having fun at the "Megafun" entertainment center.
“Bakcell has more than three year’s history of working together with UAFA in the field of social integration of children with disabilities, in rehabilitation centers of UAFA. Children with physical disabilities, who visited the entertainment center, had an opportunity to play and interact with other children, thanks to continuous training, as well as the support of parents and staff of "Megafun" entertainment center. "SOS Children's Villages” has also been our partner for a long period of time, and Bakcell has never neglected children deprived of parental care" says Kamala Velihanova, representative of Bakcell CSR project.
Representatives of "Megafun" entertainment center have also expressed their willingness and constant readiness to support such initiatives of “Bakcell”, aimed at children with disabilities and children deprived of parental care.
Bakcell has also supported another event organized by UAFA on 2nd of June. During this event, children with disabilities have demonstrated their abilities in arts, and celebrated together with well-known singers. The event dedicated to the International Children's Day has also included an exhibition-fair «Bakcell Art», featuring for sale the drawings of children from social rehabilitation centers supported by Bakcell.
Bakcell supports social rehabilitation centers of UAFA in Baku (Yasamal district), Khachmaz and Ganja since the year 2010. As part of the "Communication through Art" project, theater, dancing, painting, photography and computer literacy classes were organized for children with disabilities. As part of this project, more than 500 children acquired new knowledge and skills in order to gain a possibility of social integration. Last year, the children of UAFA took part in the Powerlifting Bench-Press championship of Azerbaijan and won prizes, while children attending other courses are also taking part in various competitions and exhibitions.
